도련님 생일 축하 가족모임이 있었다.
조카님이 차에서 커다란 상자를 꺼내 힘겹게 들고 들어온다. 직장 동료에게 선물 받은 것이라며 펼쳐 놓는다.
신기하고 못생기고 알 수 없는 덩어리 등장에 모두들 ”뭐야?“ 했다.
땅속에서 캐는것이 아니고 열리는 마라고 한다.
장조카님이 말한다.
”왜 이렇게 생겼지? 작은 어머니 저는 먹고 싶은 생각이 전혀 안 생겨요.“
”소똥 말린 것 인줄 알았네~~ "
”순대 집에 있는 쪄놓은 간 덩어리 같지 않아요?“
모두들 자신의 느낌을 말하느라고 다른 사람의 말은 듣지도 않고 한마디씩 한다.
이리보고 저리보고 얼마 동안의 시간이 흐른 뒤에야 모두들 고개를 끄덕이며 마를 인정했다.
한바탕 웃음바다가 되었고 도련님 생일 모임은 하늘 마 생김새 때문에 더욱 즐거운 시간이었다.
하늘 마 별명도 많이 생겼다.
못난이, 소똥, 삶은 간 덩어리...
모두들 화분에 심어보기로 약속하고 2개씩 받아들고 왔다.
